Are you looking for inspiration and resources to plan your next family-friendly outdoor adventure? Whether you just want to virtually follow along with us on our adventures or you are planning your own family getaway, we’re here for you! We’ll be sharing the best places to take your family for your next camping trip or off-road adventure, great destinations for family water recreation and hiking, must-have items to pack, delicious campfire-friendly recipes and more. It’s a rainy day and you’re stuck inside instead of out on an epic journey? No worries- we’ll bring you plenty of nature and outdoor- themed craft ideas and fun DIY projects to preserve the memories and souvenirs from your latest adventures.
As avid life-long outdoor enthusiasts and road-trippers we have enjoyed tent-camping, off-road trips in our modified Ford Explorer and more recently in our Jeep Wrangler, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, hiking, beach-combing, and exploring all over the western and Midwest United States. We love outdoor adventures so much that when we got married in 2006, we had a small outdoor wedding at Lane Spring Recreation Area followed by two days canoeing and camping on the Jack’s Fork River before we road-tripped to Colorado for a week of camping and mountain off-road adventures in Ouray, Colorado! We’ve taken some pretty amazing trips and we’re always sad when it’s time to go home. There are still so many places we haven’t seen and adventures we want to experience. One day we had an epiphany.

We decided that was a crazy idea. We loved it! We stayed up too late talking about it every night for the entire week that followed. We started researching and planning and now (as of September 2018) we are nearing the final stages of our goal to launch into full-time RV traveling, aka “Launch 2018!” If you want to read more about “Launch 2018”, The Pipe Dream is a great starting place. So, does that mean now we’re going to be reviewing all the RV parks and amusements and tourist attractions we visit? NOPE! Not at all. We are keeping our tent! We may have upgraded to an RV as our primary residence but we still want to find the best scenic camping spots on public land, the most beautiful rivers and lakes for water adventures, the most fun 4×4 roads and hiking trails and the less-crowded places overlooked by many vacationers. Who are we?
BethAnn- I love finding remote places to enjoy nature “off the beaten path”. I also love taking my Jeep Wrangler “Sunny” out on 4×4 adventures! Kayaking is my favorite form of water recreation, although I have recently discovered Stand-
Up Paddleboarding and it’s so much fun it may become my new favorite! I am a creative person at heart and I love making jewelry and crafts. I enjoy learning new things and look forward to having more opportunities to hone my photography skills in the near future. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from the times my family took vacations to national parks and went camping and boating near our home in North Dakota, and later trips to the California coast when we lived in Arizona.

Katelyn- An adventurous, soft-hearted, nature-loving, creative 6-year-old. Katelyn loves every animal she meets and she currently has a particular love for Pug puppies! Katelyn took her first plane trip and Jeep ride at just 5 months of age. Her 3rd camping and Jeeping trip to Colorado was in the summer of 2017 and she is turning into almost as much of a Jeep lover as her mom! She loves going for Jeep rides with the top down. Katelyn also enjoys camping and canoeing and loves cooking s’mores on the
Ruthie- An 11 year old lab mix, Ruthie loves swimming more than anything else in life. She also loves to play fetch and hates getting her nails trimmed.
Update- Ruthie passed away suddenly on 12/29/2018, just one day before we left Missouri to begin our adventures out west. She was a great dog and we all miss her. She was happy and healthy and full of life, right to the very end.
Darby- A 9 year old Pointer mix, Darby loves to disembowel soft toys. He is a snuggly lap dog trapped in the body of a 70 pound beast.
